3. Eneza Education

The meaning of Eneza in Swahili is ‘to reach’, it is an educational platform that acts as an online learning instructor and teacher’s aide for thousands of Students in Kenya. The working model of this online learning mobile app, is to partner with schools in Kenya to trail and assess the knowledge of Students using the country’s most common form of technology; which is mobile phone.

Students can access educational tests, there’s a live ‘Ask-a-Teacher’ feature, offline accessibility to Wikipedia, a dictionary, thesaurus and other learning materials via SMS. Using the high-quality content platform, students are able to hone and test their knowledge.

4. Moringa School

This is rated as Africa’s top coding School. It is a full-time online learning mobile immersive School of coding in Kenya(Nairobi). After a well selective admission procedure, 12 students out of around 220 applicants are carefully chosen to undergo a four-month intensive boot-camp training to become the next generation of ‘tech wizards’.

During this period, the students go through a fast program to expand their technical skills, learning diverse programming languages such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and PHP etc. In addition to this, they are being taught presentation skills and basic principles of business. This is a free to use online learning app from South Africa, that helps in connecting with everyone in the learning atmosphere. Students can make a profile of themselves and connect with other students from around the world.

They can also get info from schools, and submit their school works. Obami works like every social media with its main focus on education.

In 2014, this mobile app was launched. It focuses on private coaching to assist South Africa-based students. The platform joins learners on their mobile phones to real-life qualified tutors.

6. Ubongo

This a Tanzanian Online learning mobile app for social enterprise. This creates communicating edutainment for young learners in Africa, conveyed via existing technologies. This mobile app teaches math and sciences through animation such as stories and original songs. The children can use basic phones to answer various questions via SMS and also obtain feedback from their most wanted cartoon characters.

This is a Nigerian online learning mobile app that provides service using text messages to give students free access to material and teachings they listen to outside the classroom. Teachers pre-record lectures, tests and questions are sent for free by using a particular SMS code.

Educators are informed when students have completed the lessons and obtain their students’ respective performance. It saves them rating time, and they can provide fast feedback to the students who request for it. This mobile app does not require internet access and can be opened through any basic phone.

In 2014, they announced a tactical partnership with Tutor.ng in introducing a full-stack mobile learning practice across Nigeria.

9. Daptio

This was founded in the year 2013, this Cape-Town established startup has speedily positioned itself as a front-runner in adaptive learning. Daptio uses simulated intelligence to help students, counselors, and teachers to understand the expertise level of each student. The objective is to find a model that permits students to receive the exact content, leading to other tailored education and higher grades.

10. MEST

This was founded in 2008, in Accra, Ghana. It provides training, investment and mentoring for the next generation that wants to be tech entrepreneurs who will generate market tools needed for the combination of Africa in the global economy.

Here, entrepreneurs obtain a fully funded 12-month program designed to teach them how to build tech companies. The courses include software development, computer programs, product management, finance, marketing, sales, and leadership.
