JAMB Subject Combination For Science Laboratory Technology
In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Science Laboratory Technology under the Faculty of Sciences in the institutions listed above are:
Biology, Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) UNIPORT for Science Laboratory Technology
A. Requires Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry for Geology and Mining Technology, Physics with Production Technology, Industrial and Petrochemical Technology and Physics with Electronic Technology options.
B. Requires Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics for Biochemistry and Chemistry Technology, Biomedical Technology and Microbiology technology options.
O Level (WAEC and NECO) Requirements For Science Laboratory Technology
In order to study Science Laboratory Technology in the University, you will need to pass the following requirements in your O level result which can either be WAEC or NECO or even both:
Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) UNIJOS accepts candidates with pass at the Remedial Science Programme of the University of UNIJOS.
(ii) UNIBEN for Science Laboratory Technology requires five O’ level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and any two of Biology, Physics, Agricultural Science and Geography, depending on the option chosen by the candidate. Candidates opting for Physic/Electronics, Petrochemical Geology and Physiology/Pharmacology Techniques must have credit in Physics.
Direct Entry Requirements For Science Laboratory Technology
To apply for Science Laboratory Technology as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: Two ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and any one from Biology, Zoology or Botany
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i)UNIPORT – No Direct Entry Admission.
(ii) UNIBEN for Science Laboratory Technology in addition to UTME requirements may accepts at least two advance level passes in the General Certificate of Education (G.C.E.) or Higher School Certificate (HSC) or its recognized equivalents at not more than two sittings. The subjects should be of the Sciences.
(iii) BAUCHI accepts IJMB/A Level/GCE A Level Credit passes in Biology, Chemistry and anyone of Mathematics, Physics or Agric Science. National Diploma (ND) with at least Lower Credit in the following areas: Science Lab Technology and Food Science Technology. The candidate must also have the 5 O’ Level requirements in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
